Here is my Jing Screencast Video. I found this tool very helpful and actually easy to do. I used our schools homepage as the base of the video cast. Our Edline page has many features that are very useful. The problem is that parents do not know all of the vital tools that are available on this page. They may even know about the tools but are not sure how to access them. That is why this tool is ideal for parents to not only see where to go, but to listen to me describe all the options within the "Parent Link." I began on our home page and scrolled down to the Link tab. Here is where I demonstrated how to locate the actual "Parent Link." I led the listener/observer step by step to see what all is accessible for them.
Jing Screencast would best match up with ISTE T Standard number 3: Model Digital-Age Work and Learning. This activity shows that I understand and can appropriately use this technology to convey information to my students and parents. This allows me to work with multiple students, parents, peers, and community members in sharing beneficial information through technology. This information is relevant to aiding in student success and helps to provide support at home for parents as well. The resources pointed out in my screencast are free and easily accessible to everyone. I really like the idea that not only can I demonstrate how to use the Edline page's tools but to also verbally tell what choices there are for them to locate.
